Whitney Wilson, DMD
Dr. Whitney Wilson has lived in the South Nashville area since 2013. She graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown College and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.
Following her belief in serving the community, Dr. Wilson has provided dental needs from the underserved of Davidson, Rutherford, and Hickman Counties, as well as participated and led multiple dental mission trips to Uganda, Guatemala, Haiti, and various parts of the United States. Prior to joining Cornerstone, Dr. Wilson served as the Director of Outreach for Hope Smiles, a volunteer organization providing dental services to the underserved across the United States and around the world.
Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Wilson loves spending time with her husband, Barrett. Together, they are in the process of adopting a child from the Philippines. Dr. Wilson also enjoys running, cooking, reading, and volunteering with the Nashville refugee and immigrant community.
B. Alicia Griffin, DMD
Dr. Griffin has been practicing dentistry in the Nashville area since 1985. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society. Dr. Griffin is a caring and skilled professional that is dedicated to providing the best dental care possible. She wants all of her patients to be informed and knowledgeable about their dental health care, from treatment plans and services, to insurance coverage.
Alma Mancia, RDA
Alma Mancia is the first smiling face you see when you arrive at Cornerstone. After studying accounting at Union County College, she studied dental assisting at Kaplan Career Institute. She received her Registered Dental Assistant diploma from Kaplan where she had perfect attendance, maintained a 4.0 GPA, and earned her place on the Dean’s List.
Alma brings a multitude of experience in dentistry and customer service to Cornerstone Family Dentistry. She greatly enjoys continuing her dental education, developing her professional skills, and providing a good testimony. Her goal is to become the best she can be at everything that she does.
When she isn’t practicing dentistry, Alma assists with the women’s ministry at her church as well as sings with her church choir. She enjoys reading the Bible and spending time with her husband and son.
Penny Lay, RDH
Penny Lay has lived in the Nashville area since 2016. She graduated from National University of Health Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, and a minor in Nutrition. Penny then earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from the Prairie State College.
Penny prides herself on having steady hands and a gentle touch that allows patients to avoid any pain or discomfort while getting their teeth cleaned. She is passionate about educating patients on good oral health, and enjoys calming any fears that patients may have while visiting the dentist. Penny’s mission in life is to make a positive impact on someone else’s life each and every day. She is currently a student of Spanish and hopes to become fluent in other languages as well.
Outside of practicing dental hygiene, Penny loves to explore everything the city of Nashville has to offer. She enjoys live music, great food, and the outstanding hiking and biking paths in our city. Penny also enjoys practicing photography and playing the piano.
Dania Renteria grew up in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico where she completed all of her education. As a dental professional, Dania loves working with people is excellent with remembering names, faces, and information about patients. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she also assists Dr. Wilson with various dental procedures. She especially enjoys working with our orthodontic patients.
Dania’s mission in life is to help others in need. She loves to share her time, talents, and treasures with others in the hope that she can help them have a happy and successful life. Dania also has a heart for animals. One of her goals in life is to open an animal shelter for homeless and mistreated animals.
Outside of working at Cornerstone, Dania loves spending time with her family, especially her daughter Brittany. She also enjoys cooking new recipes and shopping.
Catalina Orellana, RDA
Kathy Orellana has lived in the Nashville community for many years. After attending John Overton High School and Antioch High School, Kathy received dental assisting training at Lipscomb University. As a Registered Dental Assistant with over 10 years of experience, Kathy assists Dr. Wilson with various dental treatments and procedures, as well as works very closely with our orthodontic patients.
Kathy brings many years of expertise to Cornerstone Family Dentistry and is an outstanding dental assistant. She is passionate about increasing her knowledge of the dental field, expanding her skillset, and learning to do even more as a dental professional.
Kathy’s mission in life is to help others in anyway that she can. Her desire is to lead her children and family well, and to teach them to make the right choices as they grow up. Outside of practicing dentistry, Kathy loves spending time with her family and going on vacations to the beach.
