Meet Dr. Wilson

Meet Dr. Wilson

Meet Dr. Whitney Wilson, our dentist at Cornerstone Family Dentistry! Dr. Wilson was born and raised in the small town of Graves County, Kentucky, in a close-knit family. Dr. Wilson grew up very close to her grandparents and they were big influences in her life. She is the first in her family to become a dentist.

Dr. Wilson has wanted to be a dentist for most of her life. Even as a child she loved going to the dentist to get her teeth cleaned and found the process of having a cavity filled fascinating. For as long as she can remember Dr. Wilson has been interested in people’s teeth and their smiles. Between her love of teeth and her desire to do mission work and help people, becoming a dentist was the perfect career choice.

Dr. Wilson received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. From there she went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. In 2013 she and her husband, Barrett, moved to south Nashville, where they have lived ever since.

Dr. Wilson is passionate about serving her community and has provided dental services to underserved communities in Davidson, Rutherford, and Hickman Counties. She has also had the opportunity to participate in and lead multiple international dental mission trips in countries such as Uganda, Guatemala, and Haiti.

From orthodontics to root canals, Dr. Wilson loves everything about being a dentist! It has always been Dr. Wilson’s desire to work with a diverse group of staff and patients and she gets to do that every day at Cornerstone Family Dentistry. Dr. Wilson loves growing close to her small team and working together to help patients go from pain to relief and unhealthy to well. One of the most rewarding parts of her job is when she gets to see a patient who was once embarrassed and ashamed of his or her smile begin to smile with confidence.

When Dr. Wilson isn’t working, she loves to cook, travel, read, try new restaurants, and work in her fruit and vegetable garden. In addition to keeping their three crazy dogs entertained, she and her husband are in the process of adopting a sibling group from Colombia and she looks forward to that becoming her second fulltime job.
